CLASSIFIED (Part-Time) 999 hr: $11.21 Hourly DUTIES: Conducts investigations, inspections and other activities related to the MVE program in accordance with the law and Patrol policies. Examine and confirm the identity of vehicles previously titled in a foreign state or country when applicant desires to obtain Kansas title/registration. Maintain complete and accurate fiscal records of all transactions. Check titles and other VIN related documents for accuracy, authenticity, and evidence of alterations. Provide prompt, courteous and efficient service to the public while conducting inspections. When requested, examine vehicles as per the request of the Kansas Dept. of Revenue. Maintain a current inventory of all equipment and see that it is kept in working order and replaced when necessary. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent and valid drivers license. The successful candidate is required to work in all types of weather. PREFERRED: Possess customer service, and basic computer skills. One year of experience in inspecting vehicle identification numbers and examining vehicle titles/ownership documents and registration documents. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must be able to legally drive KHP vehicles for job related duties; communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with fellow employees and the general public via phone and in person; perform basic mathematical calculations; ability to see details up close and at a distance and maintain favorable relations with public and co-workers.
