  • Responsibilities

    THE LAND AND LAKE DECKHAND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING GUESTS WITH INFORMATION AND ASSISTING THE LAND AND LAKE TOUR GUIDES WITH RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE PASSENGER LOADING/UNLOADING AREA AT THE ROCKIN’ LAND AND LAKE TOUR ATTRACTION. THE LAND AND LAKE DECKHAND MUST FEEL COMFORTABLE ON WATER. THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR USING PROPER CASH HANDLING TECHNIQUES, WHEN NECESSARY. ADDITIONAL DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.  MANAGEMENT RETAINS THE DISCRETION TO CHANGE OR ADD TO THE DUTIES OF THIS POSITION AT ANY TIME. 

    • Smile and treat guests with friendliness and respect
    • Provide guests with accurate information regarding Attractions operations and the Park in general
    • Maintain a clean, safe working environment
    • Communicate Rockin’ Land and Lake Tour hourly attendance counts to Operations
    • Monitor “Rockin’ Land and Lake Tour”  and arrival/departure from water by radio
    • Ensure that guests have the proper ticket before loading onto Rockin’ Land and Lake Tour attraction
    • Help children under the age of 13 put on PFDs before boarding the Rockin’ Land and Lake Tour attraction
    • Assist guest with accessibility and mobility devices, when needed
    • Assist Tour Guide with additional duties while on the water. Tie off boat during arrival/departure.
    • Manage and control cash and ticket transactions, when necessary
    • Balance/close till at the end of the business day, when necessary
    • Learn and adhere to cashier/cash handling procedures manual, when necessary
    • All other duties as assigned

    • Lift, balance, push, pull and carry supplies of up to 50 lbs during your shift
    • Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands, fingers, and arms. 
    • Must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, stooping and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time.
    • Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus and night vision.
    • Must be able to take directional cues directly or indirectly.

    Required Experience

    • Cash handling experience preferred
    • Customer Service experience preferred
    • Valid Driver's License preferred
