    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • In accordance with the applicable state laws, rules and regulations, the licensed athletic trainer provides athletic training services to local schools, community events and or organized sports.
    • Provides athletic training services in accordance with established contracts.
    • Possible clinical responsibilities based on location.
    • Works closely and collaboratively with all members of the sports medicine team.
    • Works closely and collaboratively with supervising / team physicians.
    • Provides sports medicine consultations to coaches, athletes, parents and others.
    • Conducts athletic training / sports medicine workshops, as requested.
    • Maintains daily treatment records and documentation on patients.
    • Effectively communicates with all members of the sports medicine team, patients, family members and coaches.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Current athletic training license or eligible in state of position.
    • Current certification by and in good standing with the Board of Certification.
    • Demonstrates competency in applying the principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in athletic training.
    • CPR Certified
    • Strong decision and problem solving skills, interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing and the ability to interface successfully with various individuals.
    • Flexibility with scheduling and willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
    • Excellent organizational and listening skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • As a member of the Dive Team, you will lead by example by being patient, kind, humble, respectful, selfless, forgiving, honest, and committed when interacting with one another and guests.
    • Perform the role of diver, standby diver, or designated person in charge for various aquarium SCUBA and Surface Supplied daily dive operations.
    • Administer all procedures set forth in the Dive Safety Manual and the Volunteer Diver Handbook.
    • Become proficient in OSHA commercial diving regulations and ADPA best practices as they pertain to aquarium dive operations.
    • As directed by the Dive Safety Officer, assist with administrative tasks for the volunteer dive program; working alongside the Volunteer Coordinator to onboard, organize, schedule, and maintain records for volunteer divers.
    • Evaluate diver competency and make recommendations for training programs as needed.
    • Maintain dive logs on all SCUBA and Surface Supplied diving activities.
    • Operate breathing compressors and fill scuba cylinders.
    • Maintain and repair SCUBA and Surface Supplied diving equipment, track periodic maintenance.
    • Work on large and small projects related to diving equipment and infrastructure upgrades.
    • Help maintain inventory of dive equipment, safety equipment, and participate in ordering supplies.
    • Assist Animal Care Team with non-diving responsibilities as needed
    • This position has been identified as Safety Critical with authorized operator requirements.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
