Social Media and Event Planning Intern
ABCey Events is a premier San Francisco event planning firm dedicated to building events for the future. We have worked with clients across a variety of industries from all over the country and world including Mozilla Firefox, Apple, Oracle, Adobe, Tesla Motors, Accenture, Mobile Theory, Blumberg Capital, CMS Legal, L'Oreal/China, Razorfish, Salesforce, Michael Moore, Charles Schwab, Belkin, Macy’s, and more!
The event planning world is dynamic and fast-paced and we are looking for interns who will thrive in this environment. Interns will get hands-on event planning experience, with tasks changing daily. Interns will also be responsible for keeping our social networks up and running, and will post daily to Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, and to the ABCey blog.
We are currently looking for interns to join our team for the Winter season, January 11th -April 11th 2016 (exact dates are flexible but internship will be 3 months long).
Primary Responsibilities:
Daily social media posts to our extensive online networks
Daily blog posts via Wordpress
Email and phone correspondence with vendors, obtaining quotes
Create and update documents and spreadsheets in Google Docs, Excel, etc
Staffing at events
Drafting event proposals, contracts
Site Selections for upcoming events- Research
You Are…
Self-motivated
An engaging communicator with strong verbal and written skills
Organized & detail oriented
Passionate about planning events and social media marketing
Able to anticipate project needs & meet deadlines with little supervision
Willing to work occasional evenings, that is, the night of events

Highly independent and self-driven while still being communicative and collaborative
Reliant upon email and other online collaboration tools
Focused on building an incredible brand atop an equally outstanding customer base
Required education: High school or equivalent
Required experience: social media: 1 year
Work Requirements/ Location: Minimum of 25 hours per week. Interns will be expected to commit 2-3 days per week at downtown San Francisco co-working location and can work from home/coffee shop remaining days. (Intern office hours are typically 10am-4pm)
