We use the work our clients currently face to teach them how to manage their time and attention, plan and prioritize, and become more organized, all so they gain confidence and become willing to take on even greater challenges. Coaching is not focused on content tutoring (other than reading and writing, which always seem to come up). Rather, the work we do focuses on Executive Function skills development - organization, time management, planning, and good "student habits." School skills emphasized are homework management, test prep, reading efficiently, essay writing and project management. Our coaching is done one-to-one, in students' homes, as well as online. We provide in-person coaching in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Southern New Hampshire, Illinois, South Florida, New Jersey, South Carolina, New York City, Philadelphia and online coaching throughout the United States and in three additional continents. Prerequisites: * Masters degree or higher in education or related field required * 3 years of experience is preferred * We are especially looking for coaches who are comfortable with grades 3-12 and college students, as well as adults. * We value candidates who have experience working one to one with students, preferably as a special education teacher, speech and language pathologist, school psychologist, as a general education teacher , or in higher education, with experience with students with ADHD and other learning challenges. * Coaches must be comfortable with technology including email, use of an online database to track student progress, Gmail and Google suites, various study websites, apps, and web conference apps like Google Hangout or Skype. Must have a computer that is compatible with Skype. * Availability for at least 5 hours per week of coaching. We are happy to start our coaches with fewer hours and have you build from there. * Candidates need to be able to travel to at least one of the following towns: Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Wellesley, Newton, Medfield, Medway, Sherborn, Framingham, Hollison, Hopkinton, Natick, Mansfield, Marlborough. You may apply outside of those towns, but you will be placed on hold until we are hiring in other areas. At this time, we are not hiring on Cape Cod, Western MA, or Springfield. * Candidates may apply who cannot travel to the towns listed above, however, they will be placed on hold and contacted if and when we start hiring in other areas. Hiring process For consideration, please fill out our application for employment. If you meet our criteria you will be contacted for a short screening interview, which is typically conducted over web conference (Zoom or Skype). If you are selected after screening, we will then do an in person interview. We conduct background and reference checks as part of our hiring process and you will need to pass our training assessments in order to be officially hired. Pay Starting pay is $50 per hour for in person coaching (20% less for online), based on experience and credentials. Coaches may have the opportunity to advance to higher rates of pay depending on their performance and tenure with the company. Training and Supervision Before starting, coaches must attend company provided paid training, which includes webinars, an online technology training, and half day in-person training. Coaches are provided with ongoing professional development and supervision and must be available for 30 minutes a week during the first month or so of coaching to get the required support. Our coaches see this as a huge benefit! General Responsibilities Each coaching session is 60-90 minutes and is usually held at theclient's home, in a local library, or online. Our coaches also provide check-ins withclients between their sessions, maintain portal notes on eachclient, and follow up with parents after each coaching session.
