This position is responsible for using a wide variety of precision measuring equipment to perform visual and mechanical inspection of critical tolerances of machined parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies and completed units.
Essential Functions
· Checks tolerance and finishes of machined parts, wound components, subassemblies and completed units using a variety of tools and gauges.
· Comfortable using handheld micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
· Familiar with using electronic indicators and digital height gages
· Familiar with using thread plugs, thread rings, plug gages, and ring gages.
· Verifies each step in the process is completed and recorded properly.
· Uses test equipment and gauges following engineering instructions.
· Summarize, file, and maintain records and parts traceability.
· Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
· Able to communicate effectively with other departments.
Required Skills
Required Experience
· Must have a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of relevant course work at a technical/vocation program preferred.
· Must have at least 2-3 years experience in mechanical inspection or manufacturing environment.
· Must be able to understand basic math calculations.
· Must be able to read and understand blue prints.
· Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available.
