The company has a rich history and local presence. It was founded in 1906 by Dinwiddie Lampton, Sr., reorganized as a holding company in 2000, and named Hardscuffle, Inc. The company has been located at Fifth and Main since 1931. It was one of only three buildings in the block. In 1970, the Company engaged Mies van der Rohe, an architect of international fame, and his firm to design a new building, the building the company continues to occupy. Primary responsibilities for this position are: providing administrative support including handling requests for information, preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, scheduling meetings and appointments, preparing board reports and correspondence, and managing calendars and travel. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet tight and demanding deadlines are key to success. A collaborative style and the willingness to be flexible and provide support throughout the organization is also critical. A Bachelors degree or equivalent training and experience is preferred. A minimum of three years experience supporting senior managers and strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook is required.
