    STV is a multidiscipline engineering/architectural consulting and construction management company performing over $300 million in revenue annually. Our award winning portfolio within the Transportation + Infrastructure Division includes engineering and architectural assignments within the Federal, Educational, Institutional, Justice and Environmental market sectors. Our staff is comprised of structural, rail, transportation, civil engineers and architects, planners and programmers, amongst others.

     

    From locations throughout the United States, STV’s over 2,000 professional, technical and support personnel offer services to a broad and ever-expanding client base. We provide planning, environmental, design, program and construction management and specialty services for the transportation, design-build, institutional, commercial and industrial markets. We are seeking a TUNNELING/GEOTECHNICAL PRACTICE LEADER to join our firm.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Develop strategic plans; build relationships with public and private clients (contractors) and the industry leaders.
    • Grow the tunneling and underground practice in the firm by the development of pursuit strategies, technical concepts, and proposal technical approaches
    • Be part of go/no-go team reviews and provide technical oversight of proposal preparation.
    • Establishing and developing teaming relationships with other consulting firms as necessary
    • Help identify, attract, and assist in recruiting additional tunneling and geotechnical staff
    • Provide technical oversight, recommend design concepts, solutions, and methodologies
    • Attend industry events, serve on panels, and publish to foster STV’s tunneling and underground engineering practice
    • Organize the tunneling, underground structures, staff into a single operating group managing their daily performance
    • Lead, manage, and deliver tunneling and underground engineering services on projects including geotechnical, tunneling

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Master’s degree in tunneling or geotechnical engineering
    • Minimum of 20 years of tunnel and underground related experience
    • Professional registration in at least one state and willingness to register in other states if needed
    • Thoroughly knowledgeable of geotechnical aspects, difficult ground conditions, and various tunneling methods, techniques and tunnel modelling software
    • Candidate shall be a seller-doer, independent thinker, and self-starter
    • Strong relationships and name recognition within the industry
    • Membership with relevant professional organizations and active participation in National tunneling and/or geotechnical associations
    • Publications in technical journals and conferences and seminars
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills

    • Strategic thinker, with demonstrated collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment and gain the support of others
    • Ability to work in a matrix organization
    • Ability to work with minimal direction
    • Ability and willingness to travel

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Hands-on leadership and supervisory style that promotes a work environment focused on results, deadlines, and continuous improvement
    • Strong operational accounting skills; ability to handle daily, weekly, monthly accounting requirements
    • Strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP including IFRS 15 (Revenue Recognition), IFRS 16 (Leases) and inventory
    • Strong accounting systems skills; experience working with ERP systems is required. Knowledge of Great Plains, Navision and SAP Business Objects a plus
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Outstanding analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with members of the finance team

    QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • 12+ years of progressive experience working in accounting/finance
    • S. in Accounting and CPA required, MBA a plus
    • Public accounting experience strongly preferred
    • Experience working with multinational companies required
    • 5+ years of experience of managerial experience leading teams of accountants
