    Job Description

    The COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST serves as a member of the SGS Industries & Environment sales support team, reporting to the Sales Operations Manager, SGS North America with a dotted line to the Head of Communications, North America. The Communications Specialist will be a bold thinker, helping execute communication strategies, infusing creativity and a fresh outlook to the marketing and communication efforts that support SGS Industries & Environment’s strategic goals. All ideas will be considered, we want people that are not afraid to speak up, try something new, push the limits and challenge the status quo.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Help us tell our story. We want storytellers to make sure we are the ones in control of our narrative and not someone else.
    • Creates, streamlines, and drives all content for SGS Industries & Environment, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
    • Develops clear, concise internal and external communication plans.
    • Creates, executes and manages email campaigns for external clients that tie in with social media efforts.
    • Takes a holistic approach to digital marketing and is not afraid to propose and carry out ideas.
    • Designs compelling and sophisticated content collateral for sales proposals - print and digital.
    • Manages assigned tasks and projects, collaborating effectively with internal clients to devise strategy and execute print, web, and multimedia communications collateral.
    • Responsible for the management and execution of corporate campaigns that align to our brand guidelines, while not stifling creativity and boldness.
    • Manages a budget across all marketing segments for I&E NAM.  Collaborates with team members to ensure project strategy and tactics are achieved on time and on budget.
    • Collects and analyzes defined metrics to evaluate success of new communications deliverables.
    • Acts as our social media community manager, plus provides opportunities to engage media through public relations efforts.
    • At all times complies with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Design, Journalism or related fields
    • 5+ years’ experience in an internal or communications role in a corporate setting
    • Experience creating unique and engaging content for digital and print marketing, content marketing, video and social media marketing. You do not need to know how to do all of these on your own, but we need someone to hunger for content ideas and ways to make them come to life.
    • Experience managing multiple projects from concept to completion, on time and on budget.
    • Outstanding copywriting and presentation skills, including strong editing skills (content, grammar, spelling). If you speak French, it is a much-welcomed bonus.
    • Proven ability to apply a creative approach to produce clear, compelling, motivating communications that achieve desired outcomes. We are looking to bring out the humanity in what we do from both the perspective of our amazing team members and the clients we serve.
    • Excellent judgment in determining the appropriateness and content of messages.
    • Working knowledge of intranet platforms (SharePoint) and social media tools (i.e. Sprout) as communications vehicles and content management tools.
    • Strong project management skills and ability to deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Familiar with current trends in online marketing, graphic design, website design, video marketing.
    • Experience with content management systems, email marketing software (such as Oracle’s Eloqua), Survey Monkey, PowerBI, SharePoint (Office 365), BrandWatch, PR tools (Cision Cloud) and Social Media Listening tools.
    • Proficient in O365, Adobe Creative Cloud.
    • Flexible and adaptable to demanding schedules, and shifting priorities.
