  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting quality control/assurance testing on specific construction products and materials. This role consists of physical labor, fabrication of samples, testing of samples, and recording of data. This could include mixing and batching of concrete, cement, epoxies, coatings, steel, aggregates, or consumer product testing.

    • Shoveling and mixing concrete
    • Perform fabrication of test samples (weigh ingredients and mix using the mixer)
    • Clean and assemble molds or special equipment
    • Perform testing in accordance with applicable standards
    • Provide technical advice on testing techniques and solutions
    • Adhere to internal standards, policies and procedures
    • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    Required:

    • High School Diploma / GED
    • 0-3 years of experience in laboratory testing

    Preferred:

    • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline

    Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

    • Basic knowledge in use of hand tools and power tools
    • Basic knowledge of sample fabrication
    • Basic knowledge in use of scales and balances
    • Advanced level of English
    • Basic Mathematical skills
    • Basic reasoning and problem-solving skills
    • Basic working knowledge of Office 365

    Travel

    • Travels up to 10% of the time. Local travel around Atlanta metro-area and in Georgia. Some travel to neighboring states (Southeast US states)

    Equipment

    • This job operates in a temperature-controlled laboratory environment as well as in the field. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones in addition to power tools such as drills.
