Job Description

We are looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer Intern to create and manage BI and Analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge to improve our day-to-day operations, enhance the quality of service delivered to our clients and ultimately accelerate the development of innovative data-driven solution.

In this role, you should have a background in data and business analysis. You should be analytical and an excellent communicator. You should be a fast learner able to quickly grasp the fundamentals of our industry.  At all times, you should comply with SGS Code of Integrity.

Ultimately, you will enhance our business intelligence system to help us make better decisions.

• Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g., dashboards and reporting tools)
• Translate BI business needs into technical specifications
• Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power BI)
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
• Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
• Develop and update technical documentation

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 0-2 years’ experience as a BI Developer or Data Analyst/Scientist
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI
• Background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modeling) and data mining

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES

• Background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modeling) and data mining
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI
• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or relevant field
• Language Skills: Fluent written and spoken English
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Python, R, Statistics, or relevant Data Science field preferred

COMPUTER SKILLS

• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI
• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Knowledge of Python and R preferred

TRAVEL

• Travels up to 5% of the time
