    Job Description

    • You will serve as the Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO) for the CECOM Software Engineering Center (SEC), responsible for overseeing our data strategy and analytics capabilities.
    • You will play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive innovation and opportunity growth across the center.
    • Responsible for strategic planning, conducting, implementing the Army’s data centricity, artificial intelligence, and machine learning initiatives across the center.
    • Conducts data science research to establish objectives; isolate and define critical features of the problem; formulation and application of methodology; identification of alternative courses of action; and clear, concise, presentation of results.
    • Performs studies of issues arising in various subjects spanning the entire range Army, DoD, and Federal programs.
    • Analyzes, develops, and presents mathematical techniques and models for relating manpower requirements to different combat/support missions and different types of base support structures.
    • Utilize analytics or acquisition to plan, conduct, and present complex contracting and financial systems analyses.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify at the DB-04/GS-14 grade level, in addition to meeting the basic education requirement listed below, you must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level. Specialized Experience is defined as experience equivalent to the DB-03 pay band (GS-13 grade level or higher equivalency) in the Federal Service which includes experience in: 1) Conducts investigative studies using the application of methodologies or analytics in the areas of: modeling and simulations; logistics analysis; acquisition/technology support; programming skills; machine learning; artificial intelligence; data centric networks; data visualization; OR business/resource analysis; (2) Research new or modified ways for predicting/modeling or investigating data to improve data reliability, efficiency or quality; (3) Collaborate with others to communicate obstacles or findings to improve decision-making. Transcripts are required to meet the Basic Education Requirement. 1560 Basic Requirement for Data Scientist: A. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. (You MUST provide transcripts.) OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
