Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronics Mechanic without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the common tasks of an Electronics Mechanic. I can test, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul a variety of moderately complex electronic equipment and systems. I can analyze, isolate, modify and maintain a variety of moderately complex units and components AND Install a variety of electronic devices and components. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element) Ability To Use Hand and Power Tools - Electronics Ingenuity (Ability To Suggest and Apply New Methods) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Theory of Electronics Trouble shooting (Electronic Equipment) Use of Test Equipment: Electronics Physical Effort: Frequently lifts and handles equipment up to about 40 pounds. Work is performed sitting at bench or standing at test sites and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping. Working Conditions: Normally works inside well lighted, heated, and ventilated shop. Works at on-site locations as required on TDY assignments. Work outside is usually performed in good weather conditions but may be required to work in adverse conditions on priority items. Exposed to possibility of serious burns caused by electrical shock, RF energy and hot components, and to microwave radiation. Subject to cuts, bruises, and scrapes from handling tools and equipment.
