    Job Summary

    About the Position: This position will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Directorate of Production Engineering at Tobyhanna Army Depot, Tobyhanna, PA. Please limit your resume to 5 pages.     Job Description

    • Serve as an Engineering Technician on assignments involving the design, development, fabrication, and installation of components relating to Defense Satellite Communication Systems.
    • Utilize Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) equipment to design structural components and civil layouts.
    • Act as a project manager/project lead on construction sites.
    • Assist in the training of new employees and provide technical guidance and review for lower-level technicians.

Specialized Experience at the GS-10 Level: To qualify applicants must identify in their resume that they possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-09) in the federal service that demonstrates the following: 1) Making initial evaluation of a design problem to determine the optimum solution to the problem; 2) Utilizing Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) equipment to design simple components; AND 3) Assisting in the development/modification of Bills of Material (BOMs). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Specialized Experience at the GS-11 Level: To qualify applicants must identify in their resume that they possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-10) in the federal service that demonstrates the following: 1) Participating on projects that analyze data and suggest improvements to manufacturing and overhaul processes; 2) Supporting the development of Bills of Material and Computer-aided design and development (CADD); 3) Training mission personnel on proper use of multiple data systems; AND 4) Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish the organizational mission. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).
