    JOB SUMMARY

    This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for AcqDemo Business and Technical Management Career Path (NH) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as the Executive Assistant (EA) to the Commanding General (CG), CECOM, a 2-star billet, the Deputy to the Commanding General (DCG), CECOM and/or Headquarters (HQ) Staff. This is a permanent position.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Serve as the Executive Assistant (EA) to the CG, CECOM/DCG, CECOM and Executive Command Staff.

    • Provide sound advice to the CG/DCG with respect to daily support, near-term and long-range calendar and event planning and execution, and staff coordination of staff actions, events, and executive program management oversight activities.

    • Establish, receive, screen and maintain the CG's/DCG's schedule of appointments, meetings, conferences, speaking engagements and other commitments.

    • Analyze office staffing procedures to ensure the processes are in compliance with staffing policies/procedures.

    • Analyze administrative support operations supporting a 2-Star Command and recommends ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations

    • Review a variety of correspondence from all sources for the CG/DCG's signature to include classified/sensitive documents and matters of confidentiality and sensitivity up to Secret.

    • Ensure technical accuracy with regard to format, typographic and grammatical accuracy.

    • Coordinate all aspects of the CG's/DCG's trip planning; plans meetings, conferences, and travel.

    • Assure proper protocol for all functions and visitors.

    • Develop itineraries, instructions, guides, supplementary material and pertinent correspondence.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Management is using the DHA Modified Referral Process. All self-certified qualified candidates will be referred to the hiring official. The Human Resources Service Center will review eligibility/qualification of the selectee upon return of the referral certificate. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) serving as a focal point for staff integration, taskings, staff coordination, or dissemination of information for the executive office; (2) receiving telephone calls and high ranking visitors in order to determine the nature of their call or visit; (3) Coordinating all travel arrangements for executive leadership; (4) preparing recurrent reports for executive use, such as planning calendars, social and trip calendars, etc; and (5) overseeing executive correspondence by determining proper format, spacing and arrangement of tabulated material. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
