    Job Description

    • Accountable for system installations, upgrades, problem analysis and resolution, database management, client copies, system refreshes, SAP instance configuration and performance tuning for a complex system landscape.
    • ERP Application Developer is the technical authority and provides guidance, technical oversight and implementation instruction to junior ERP Application developers.
    • Leads, addresses and solves critical issues including the management of escalations/resolutions of system issues related to the major SAP applications, business objects, solution manager and enterprise portals.
    • Conceptualizes, researches, designs, develops, and implements complex solutions and/or oversees their implementation by other ERP Application Developers.
    • Analyzes, diagnoses and resolves computing problems related applications, system software, external or third-party software, and operating systems.
    • Provides installation, configuration, integration, upgrade and testing support for new projects, and maintenance initiatives for SAP systems and operating system environments such as Windows, Unix/Linux and Solaris based systems.
    • Oversees other developers in providing performance tuning, problem analysis and system administration for Oracle/SQL databases and related SAP interfaces such as ECC, NetWeaver and BW.
    • ERP Application Developer meets with primary stakeholders to coordinate the activities of the customer/user teams working on the analysis and provides technical expertise on hardware, software and architecture.
    • Applies extensive knowledge of the subject matter for the ERP environment as well as the capabilities of the SAP Web Application Server in order to successfully run SAP applications.
    • Work with Stakeholders/customers to translate needs into requirements and create functional/technical specification documents ensuring comprehensive design, before developing/debugging assigned portions of the solution, testing, and customer support.
    • Facilitates and translates customer requirements into technical project requirements and coordinates with other developers and Project Managers to support the implementation of plans.
    • Maintains and sustains the ERP application (SAP environment) infrastructure/architecture on a day-to-day basis through their own technical abilities and through leading a team of ERP Application Developers.
    • Liaise with the functional and business teams to discuss, design, maintain and/or build robust/efficient solutions.
    • Prepare comprehensive documentation required according to the Armaments Software Engineering Center’s CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integrated) methodologies for all work.
    • Debug and repair project and production issues found during unit testing and business operations.
    • Monitor system performance and conduct/coordinate system performance tuning.
    • Draws upon advanced system techniques to devise new ways of accomplishing work functions and to integrate functions with little or nothing in common except basic information used.
    • Performs analysis to determine feasibility studies and to determine optimal approaches for the application of commercial off-the-shelf (CoTs) products for the purpose of technical data automation.
    • Interfaces with management, specialists and users to determine data processing requirements, enhancements or problems, and advises subject-matter personnel on the impact of new or revised systems of data processing operations.
    • Develops procedures for ERP application (SAP) which includes basic documents from which information is extracted, design of inputs, methods of data reduction/coding, and capability for new product to meet changing requirements of users.

Based on the provisions outlined in the DHA authority, if you are a current Federal employee, you will be converted to a new appointment. This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-04 broadband with an advertised pay range from the lowest equivalent GS-14 grade Step 01 to the highest equivalent GS-15 grade step 10 in the broadband. The Control Point for this position is equivalent to GS-14 step 10 at $181,216 including locality at the rate of 33.26%. Management will set the selectee's pay for this position within the control point salary range consistent with the qualifications and education of the selectee and the expected contribution for the position or if the incumbent's salary currently exceeds the GS-14, step 10 level the incumbent' s salary will be put on a salary control point at the incumbents existing salary. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-03). Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Leading a System Applications and Products (SAP) Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) team using SAP ABAP/4 (Advanced Business Application Programming) development workbench to create solutions in areas such as: programming, debugging, performance tuning, design, development, and testing and implementation. 2) Updating SAP development standards using development tools suited to HANA (high-performance analytic appliance). 3) Resolving system issues within the financial accounting/control area of Systems Applications Products (SAP) applications; and 4) Training junior system Applications and Products (SAP) Developer team members. AND My specialized experience includes, or was supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
