About the Position: The pay band NH-03 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-12/13. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. In addition to meeting the education requirement below, applicants must also possess the following experience requirement: Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-02/GS-11). Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Developing documents such as architecture principles, technology standards, or future state strategies for software engineering/software development environments; 2) Developing software systems using techniques such as operating system theory, architecture, or software engineering; 3) Developing software systems using object oriented programming languages such as Java or C++; 4) Providing advice on topics such as software designs, architectures, processes, or opportunities as related to program needs and objectives; 5) Assessing performance of existing systems to determine future requirements such as hardware/software upgrades, testing or new system capabilities. The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) is the Army’s materiel integrator for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) readiness. As a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC), CECOM collaborates with Army Commands, Program Executive Offices, other AMC commands, and industry partners to provide, integrate, and sustain world-class C5ISR hardware, software, and mission command capabilities for the joint warfighter. CECOM maintains a global team of approximately 9,000 Soldiers, civilians, and contractors and is headquartered at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD.
