    Job Summary

    This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for AcqDemo Business and Technical Management Career Path (NH) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC) is one of the most experienced and comprehensive support centers within the Department of Defense.

    Job Description

    • Serve as expert System Applications and Products (SAP) Security analyst and recognized authority responsible for SAP Security/Program area.
    • Identify where program or personnel adjustments are needed and formulates recommendations for management.
    • Develop and deliver informational briefs through various reporting mechanisms such as scorecards, schedules, and workshops to convey project readiness, risk situation, and work effort progress to customers, leaders, and partners.
    • Support system migration coordination and status reporting, tracks regular maintenance activities, orchestrates annual system outages, and maintains operational tempo and awareness of program priorities and deliverables.
    • Drive process innovations and lifecycle improvements, escalates system degradation and unplanned outage events, and tracks progress on urgent change request (CR).

To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. To qualify you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below based on the grade level required of the position being filled: and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; often reviewing work completed by others; (2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: resolving routine and non-routine problems, questions, or complaints; developing and maintaining strong, mutually supportive working relationships with customers; conducting evaluation of support to determine quality of services and customer satisfaction, and recommending procedural changes based on customer need or changes in policy and/or regulation; (3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information; and 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to perform the duties of the position. Specialized Experience is defined as having one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Developing, evaluating and/or designing system software configurations needed to support System Applications and Products (SAP) applications and customized integration of business computer systems. 2) Coordinating with landscape architects to ensure adequate planning for a SAP system landscape that supports all phases of the deployment (i.e. development, testing, training, data load, and go-live). 3) Resolving system issues within the SAP Security/control area of SAP applications. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13/NH-03). This non-supervisory position is subject to a salary control point equivalent to the GS-14, step 10 base salary, or if the incumbent's salary current exceeds the GS-14, step 10 level the incumbent's salary will be put on a salary control point at the incumbents existing salary.
