    Job Summary

    This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Business and Technical Management Career Path (ACQ Demo) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is subject to the NH-03 Non-Supervisory Senior Professional control point of the CECOM Control Point Policy.

    Job Description

    • Provide life cycle software support to Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Sensors (IEWS),Command Post of the Future (CPOF), or the DSCS Integrated Management System (DIMS) system.
    • Serve as Test Engineer and lead, planning and testing efforts for new/existing embedded software releases received from the Software Engineering team and final software build prior to deployment to operational sites.
    • Evaluate contractor proposals for software support, provide technical guidance to contractors, resolve technical problems, observe progress and evaluate performance.
    • Use technical expertise in IP networking protocols such as HTTP and HTTPS, firewalls, routers, etc.
    • Serve as a technical expert and Command representative industry on matters related to new IT/software concepts and other plans of significant impact and importance.
    • Represent the MCDS at configuration control boards and other resource management planning meetings.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. To qualify you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below based on the grade level required of the position being filled: 1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND In addition to the competencies listed above, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (NH-02/GS-11) in the Federal service which includes: 1) providing technical leadership on group projects; 2) applying principles, methods and/or procedures for designing and/or integrating new or reusable system components to provide a variety of software services; 3) coordinating interagency cooperative efforts in the management, utilization, and operation of data processing and data communication resources; and 4) applying design principles, methods, and approaches to design, write, test, debug, and maintain software applications that meet technical and functional requirements. This is a pay banded position. This NH-03 position is subject to the Non-Supervisory Senior Professional control point of the CECOM Control Point Policy, which encompasses GS-12/step 1 to GS-13/step 10 under the General Schedule (GS) system.
