    Job Description

    • Manages the publishing and printing of technical manuals covering the theory, operation, and maintenance of a variety of electronic equipment and/or systems.
    • Provides policy and advice to commodity technical writers to guide them through the technical manual development and/or sustainment process.
    • Advises commodity technical writers on technical manuals, including interactive electronic technical manual (IETM), acquisition strategy.
    • Manages the distribution and storage of CECOM technical publications on the Product Data Management (PDM) system.
    • Responds to field inquiries and requests from other agencies for CECOM technical publications assistance.
    • Performs the life cycle management of publication documents, developing sources of information pertaining to assigned commodities and verifying and synthesizing such information prior to releasing for publication.
    • Utilize extensible Markup Language (XML) and Portable Document Format (PDF) to edit and manage electronic documents.

Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-02). Specialized experience is defined as: Experience interpreting publication regulatory guidance in order to provide policy and procedural guidance. Experience developing equipment publications to articulate technical information. Experience reviewing and editing equipment publications. The Control Point for this position is equivalent to GS-13 step 5 at $133,692 including locality at the rate of 33.26%. Management will set the selectee's pay for this position within the control point salary range consistent with the qualifications and education of the selectee and the expected contribution for the position or if the incumbent's salary currently exceeds the GS-13, step 05 level the incumbent' s salary will be put on a salary control point at the incumbents existing salary.
