2022 Investment and Corporate Banking Summer Analyst Program
Mizuho offers its Investment and Corporate Banking Summer Interns an eleven week program that includes both structured training as well as two rotational assignments through our industry and product groups.
Mizuho’s Summer Analyst program is an eleven-week program that offers the unique experience of working for a global bank that is rapidly expanding its presence in the United States. Over the last decade, Mizuho has built a leading position in Investment & Corporate Banking in the United States. The program is designed to immerse analysts into the daily activities of our various groups, helping Senior Bankers deliver a client solution approach across our entire product suite. We are looking for students with a strong academic record and a keen interest in the financial markets. Approximately 30 students are hired annually across the country, with the goal of hiring each intern as a full-time analyst following their graduation.
Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct detailed financial analyses, including valuations and corporate finance
Perform comprehensive company and industry research
Develop and prepare client presentations and materials
Interact with senior bankers, product partners, and clients
Build and maintain financial models to demonstrate projected financial results and valuation
PLACEMENT & DURATION
We offer internship programs in New York, San Francisco and Houston.
The groups include:
New York: Interns are given the opportunity to meet with each industry coverage and product group. They will subsequently be placed into two groups, each rotation lasting approximately four weeks.
San Francisco: Technology, Media & Telecom
Houston: Energy
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
At the beginning of the internship program, Summer Analysts attend a one-week intensive training program held in New York to build a foundation in the basic skills of financial analysis, accounting and valuation. Development will continue through the summer as analysts work alongside industry coverage and product professionals on various projects. In addition, analysts will have opportunities to network with peers, mentors and senior bankers through organized events to help them integrate into the culture and atmosphere of Mizuho.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in the penultimate year with a graduation date between December 2022 and June 2023
Seeking candidates demonstrating academic excellence while enrolled in a challenging curriculum
Basic knowledge of and interest in financial concepts
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to act as a leader and team player
Possess a strong work ethic
Strong oral & written communication skills
