    Job Summary

    Under general supervision, the RJ Trust (RJT) Law Clerk uses skills gained through training and experience to assist with specific projects within RJT. The Law Clerk follows established procedures to perform tasks and receives general guidance and direction to perform other work with substantial variety and varied complexity. Some judgment is required to adapt procedures, processes, and techniques to apply to more complex assignments. Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to a higher level.

    This is a temporary role.

    Work Schedule: Up to 15 hours per week for a limited time, determined by department need.

    Start Date: February 12, 2024

    End Date: May 17, 2024

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Legal research
    • Prepare legal memos
    • Review and interpret documents
    • Prepare/update 50 State Surveys
    • Works independently on assigned projects and tasks, meeting all delivery deadlines.
    • Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Knowledge of

    • Trusts and estate law through classroom studies or practical experience
    • Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a professional office environment.
    • Basic concepts, principles, and practices of an assigned business unit.

    Skill in

    • Operating standard office equipment and using, or having the ability to learn, required software applications.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a virtual/hybrid team.

    Ability to

    • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
    • Provide a high level of customer service.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.

    Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

    • Must be a rising 3L student currently enrolled in an accredited Law School
    • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

    • None required.

    Hybrid position - St. Petersburg office

    • No travel required.
