    Department Overview

    Our NYC office offers the complete array of fixed income products to institutional accounts. We have trading, underwriting, sales and research on our floor. Also on our floor is compliance and the head of fixed income sales. With over 160 institutional sales people nation-wide, sales management has many projects and deadlines in the works to create infrastructure and support for our clients and the people servicing them.

    One of the biggest challenges each year is building a better process for account rotations. These 160+ sales people cover over 5,000 clients and through evaluation and marketing we identify accounts that need more attention or just a better connection to Raymond James. One way we create this is through rotation.

    Our intern will assist sales management in processing these accounts and helping deliver an optimal rotation for sales at the end of our fiscal year.

    Seasonal Associate Job Summary

    Work with Fixed Income Sales Management to help optimize and streamline certain account exercises, specifically account rotation but not limited to that.

    This role requires creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with various teams. The intern will contribute significantly to our team by helping to enhance our sales data management as it relates to account rotation. This will ultimately lead to increased sales opportunities and improved efficiency in our trading desk operations. The success of this role will be measured by the usability and effectiveness of the rotation system and its impact on our sales and trading operations. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to gain hands-on experience in product marketing within a dynamic trading environment.

    Under general supervision, the seasonal associate uses knowledge and skills obtained through formal education and/or experience to work on specific projects within an assigned functional area. The seasonal associate follows established procedures to perform tasks and receives general guidance and direction to perform other work with substantial variety and varied complexity. Some judgment is required to adapt procedures, processes, and techniques to apply to more complex assignments. Routine contact with internal and external customers may be required to exchange basic information.

    This is a temporary role.

    Work Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week for a limited time, determined by department need.

    End Date: August 9, 2024

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate with sales management: Work with sales management to identify needs for a successful rotation of accounts
    • Liaise with sales representatives: Understand their needs and incorporate useful features into the rotation system.
    • Engage with salespeople: Understand their needs and how they will interact with Simon system.
    • Rotation Development: Identify ways we can enhance system.
    • Feedback and Improvement: Gather feedback on the rotation system and make necessary improvements to enhance its effectiveness.
    • Specified projects and varied assignments relating to the fixed income.
    • Works independently on assigned projects and tasks, meeting all delivery deadlines.
    • Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Basic Understanding of Excel : Familiarity with the purpose and functionality of spreadsheets.
    • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various teams within the organization. This includes both written and verbal communication skills.
    • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and to organize information in a clear and concise manner.
    • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify problems and come up with creative solutions. This is particularly important when gathering feedback and making improvements to the rotation system.
    • Adaptability: Willingness and ability to quickly learn new concepts and adapt to changes in the project.
    • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as this role involves coordinating with various departments within the organization.
    • Presentation Skills: Ability to compile the work done into a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation and effectively present the project outcomes to upper management. This includes the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner that is easily understood by non-technical individuals. This skill will be crucial at the end of the project to demonstrate the value and impact of the new CRM system.

    • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
