Job Summary

Under general supervision, the summer associate uses knowledge and skills obtained through formal education and/or experience to work on specific projects within an assigned functional area. The summer associate follows established procedures to perform tasks and receives general guidance and direction to perform other work with substantial variety and varied complexity. Some judgment is required to adapt procedures, processes, and techniques to apply to more complex assignments. Routine contact with internal and external customers may be required to exchange basic information.

This is a temporary role.

Work Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week for a limited time, determined by department need.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• You will apply data engineering skillset on fixed income data. For example, data processing, cleaning, outliers detection, data warehouse maintenance.
• You will explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability.
• You will have a chance to test your ideas on efficient data query, develop analytical tools and programs and work with traders, data scientists and engineers to evaluate business needs and objectives.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of

• Background: Master/Bachelor Student with great understanding of math, statistics, computer science and data science.
• Programming: SQL, Python (Required). Also, R/Java/C++ is a plus.
• The ideal candidates have experiences on data collecting/cleaning, preparing data for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
• Detail-oriented for analyzing large raw data.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle database is a big plus.
• Self-motivated with creative thinking ability.
• A great communicator with teammates, able to express your own ideas with other people clearly.

Skill in

• Detail-oriented for analyzing large raw data.
• Operating standard office equipment and using, or having the ability to learn, required software applications.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
