    Job Summary

    Under general supervision, the summer associate software developer uses knowledge and skills obtained through formal education and/or experience to work on specific projects within an assigned functional area. The summer associate software developer follows established procedures to perform tasks and receives general guidance and direction to perform other work with substantial variety and varied complexity. Some judgment is required to adapt procedures, processes, and techniques to apply to more complex assignments. Routine contact with internal and external customers may be required to exchange basic information.

    This is a temporary role.

    Work Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week for a limited time, determined by department need.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Communicate with the trading and sales teams and work with our fixed income data pipelines.
    • Work with senior members in technology team on various web-based applications and standalone trading applications.
    • Have a chance to learn Fixed Income knowledge and communicate with traders/sales.
    • Specified projects and varied assignments.
    • Works independently on assigned projects and tasks, meeting all delivery deadlines.
    • Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Knowledge of

    • Background: BS/MS Student majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field
    • Programming: Java (Preferred) or C#
    • Great understanding of data structure, algorithms, and web development
    • Experience in Spring framework and/or JavaScript framework is a plus
    • Familiarity with Relational DB and 1+ year of writing SQL queries
    • Ability to solve problems systematically, multi-task, and work as part of a team

    Skill in

    • Operating standard office equipment and using, or having the ability to learn, required software applications
    • Comfortable multi-tasking and working as part of a team

    Ability to

    • Self-motivated with systematic problem-solving ability.
    • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
