    Mr. Cooper's summer internship program offers college students the chance to discover what it's like to work at a leading financial services organization. Our interns deliver innovative solutions to real business challenges and build enduring relationships with their manager and an assigned mentor. Our summer internship program begins in June 2024 and ends in August 2024.

    The Machine Learning Engineer Interns will have access to a wide range of projects and opportunities to apply their skills in real-world scenarios. They will gain hands-on experience and enhance their knowledge in their field of interest. Interns will work alongside a team of experienced professionals who are passionate about mentorship.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources, ensuring it is ready for machine learning tasks. This may involve handling missing values, outliers, and data normalization
    • Assist in developing and training machine learning models using programming languages like Python or tools like TensorFlow and scikit-learn
    • Evaluate model performance and make necessary adjustments
    • Contribute to feature selection and engineering to enhance the predictive power of machine learning models.
    • Explore different data transformations and representations
    • Create visualizations to communicate data insights and model performance
    • Prepare reports summarizing findings and recommendations for stakeholders
    • Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to gain exposure to advanced machine learning techniques and tools
    • Continuously learn and stay updated on the latest developments in the field

    Basic Qualifications

    • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in machine learning, such as Python
    • Strong understanding of data analysis and statistics, including concepts like data cleaning, hypothesis testing, and basic statistical modeling
    • Familiarity with the fundamentals of machine learning, including supervised and unsupervised learning, model evaluation techniques, and feature engineering
    • Candidates must have authorization to work permanently in the US without the need for sponsorship (Currently, our organization is unable to support candidates that are on OPT, CPT or candidates that will need sponsorship, now or in the future)
