    IB Summer Analyst Program Overview

    Stifel’s 9-week Investment Banking Summer Analyst Program provides students with a hands-on introduction to the role of an Investment Banking Analyst. You will work alongside our banking professionals, from the Analyst through Managing Director levels, to experience the Stifel culture and gain exposure to a variety of transactions, including merger and acquisition advisory services, debt and equity financings, and financial restructuring services.

    The program is structured to provide each Summer Analyst with the support needed for a successful summer, beginning with a robust training program focused on developing a strong foundation in basic financial analysis, accounting, and valuation skills. We expand on this training with opportunities for career exploration and development through our formal mentorship program, social networking events, mid and end-of-summer reviews, end-of-program group projects, and other significant learning opportunities outside of day-to-day delivery on projects.

    Responsibilities

    The program will provide Summer Analyst with an in-depth understanding of the daily responsibilities of an Investment Banking analyst. Interns will assume significant responsibilities that include but are not limited to the following:

    • Support deal teams in creating, maintaining, and utilizing complex financial models to analyze company projections or potential transactions
    • Perform financial and valuation analysis such as discounted cash flow analysis and multiple valuation analysis
    • Conduct company and industry research and gain an in-depth understanding of sector trends
    • Prepare client presentation materials in coordination with internal deal team and clients
    • Develop a deep understanding of Investment Banking products and services by participating in client calls or meetings
    • Engage in company and credit-oriented research and due diligence processes
    • Prepare financial and transaction documents including marketing memoranda
    • Contribute to the development and communication of proposals and advice to current and prospective clients

    Qualifications

    Summer Analyst candidates should possess a keen interest in finance, outstanding academic records, and a commitment to extracurricular endeavors. The ideal candidate will possess both the following required and desired qualifications.

    Required Qualifications

    • Pursuing an undergraduate degree with an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 - May 2026
    • Minimum GPA of 3.2 or above
    • Resume must include expected graduation month/year and GPA
    • Resume must be submitted in PDF format. Word documents will not be accepted.
    • Authorization to work in the U.S.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment
    • Excellent quantitative, interpretive, and analytical skills
    • Demonstrated leadership and disciplined work ethic
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
    • Significant exposure to finance and accounting
    • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative work environment with strong interpersonal skills
    • Superior attention to detail
    • Experience with financial modeling and analysis preferred
    • Well-rounded set of interests and involvement in extra-curricular activities beyond academics. Strong candidates will also demonstrate leadership abilities through their involvement in these endeavors.

    Program Duration: 9 weeks. Anticipated start and end date: June 2, 2025 - August 1, 2025

    Pay Rate: $1923/per week
