    Department Overview

    The RIA & Custody Services Division (RCS) serves as a clearing firm for independent broker dealers and as a custodian for independent Registered Investment Advisor firms (RIAs).

    Job Summary

    The summer associate will gain hands-on experience in the operational processes that support the service advisors for our independent advisors and broker-dealer relationships. This role offers exposure to the day-to-day functions that ensure accurate and efficient processing of onboarding/offboarding, account maintenance, and procedure reviews. The successful candidate will collaborate with various operational teams and have opportunities to observe and assist in workflow optimization, data integrity checks, and process improvements. Attention to detail and a proactive approach will be essential in supporting initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction.

    The summer associate position is a temporary role.

    Start Date: Monday, June 1 , 202 6

    End Date: Friday, August 7 , 202 6

    Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with teams to deliver operational excellence for RIAs and Introducing Broker Dealers

    • Participate in process improvement initiatives; identify inefficiencies and recommend enhancements

    • Support the Client Admin Support team members and managers with plans, timelines, deliverables, and documentation (status reports, meeting notes)

    • Assisting with transaction processing, account setup, and documentation review

    • Monitor risks and issues, escalating as needed

    • Work with cross-functional teams (Client Engagement, Service Advisors, and Risk) to provide updates.

    • Gain insight into how operational teams interact with compliance and product teams to deliver superior client experience

    • Participate in leadership mentorship sessions with the RCS COO

    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Knowledge of

    • Microsoft Office functions (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio is a plus).

    • FINRA and the SEC and how they oversee RIAs and Broker Dealers.

    • Fundamental concepts of financial markets and products.

    • Relationship management software and applications is a plus.

    • Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a professional office environment.

    Skill in

    • Creating process documentation and diagrams.

    • Preparing clear written reports and presentations for varied audiences.

    • Managing time effectively to meet deadlines.

    • Applying critical thinking to identify organizational risks.

    • Operating standard office equipment and learning required software applications.

    Ability to

    • Research complex issues and involve appropriate stakeholders in decisions.

    • Analyze data to identify trends and drive improvements.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners.

    Educational/ Previous Experience Requirements

    • Freshman or Sophomore standing ( December 202 7 -May 202 9 graduates) pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.

    • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

    • Eligible applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future (including beyond OPT/EAD) .
