Advanced Strategies is seeking a full-time intern to join their operational due diligence (ODD) team this summer in Chicago, Illinois. The position specifically focuses on the operational reviews of hedge fund managers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the review and analysis of hedge fund managers’ audited financial statements
• Manage the administrative responsibilities of the ODD team to help the team run efficiently
• Assist team members in preparation for travel and onsite meetings with hedge fund managers
• Work with the ODD team to follow-up on outstanding questions from our onsite hedge fund manager meetings and document the resolution of outstanding questions
• Assist in compiling information on our underlying hedge fund managers such as service providers used, terms of investment, data for cash management projects, data for client queries, etc.

Requirements

• Graduation in December 2019 or later
• Going into Junior year in a 4 or 5 year program (eg, Master’s of Science in Accountancy)
• Resume must include expected graduation month/year and cumulative GPA
• Minimum GPA of 3.4
• Accounting and/or Finance major strongly desired
• Basic knowledge of accounting and finance
• Excellent organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to thrive in a team environment
• Intellectual curiosity and an intense passion for learning about hedge funds
• Attention to detail and ability to see projects through to completion
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
