    Requisition Number 18-0343 Post Date 8/3/2018 Title NAS Business Analyst Intern City Anchorage State AK Pay Rate $16.98/hour Description The Business Analyst Intern will be responsible for assisting with the analysis of various projects as assigned by the Managing Director, Financial Planning and Analysis and the CFO. The Business Analyst Intern is expected to contribute to analysis of ongoing operations, assist in developing models for a wide range of scenarios, develop and maintain measures for ongoing operations, and proactively seek opportunities to enhance their analytical skills and understanding of NAS businesses. ESSENTIAL DUTES and RESPONSIBILITES: Assists with in depth analysis of key drivers in the business and develops a greater understanding of the critical variables affecting financial performance. Develops an understanding of current analytical tools and resources in the department. Proactively identifies and develops new skills and abilities in support of constantly improving the quality of metrics and analysis. Proactively seeks opportunities to enhance their understanding of various business lines within NAS. Develops technical communication skills through assisting in the creation of documentation and training materials for projects. Develops presentation skills by presenting analysis and findings to business users and senior management. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must be seeking a degree and/or have experience that insures that the candidate has the computational, mathematical and analytical skills necessary for the position. Airline experience a plus. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with complex mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to analyze a problem and/or situation. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The Business Analyst Intern must be a self-starter and be able to work independently. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word. Experience with Business Objects or SAP a plus. Accuracy and attention to detail required.
