Join a highly motivated and very active Los Angeles based Global Banking Technology, Media & Telecom sector coverage team to deliver a comprehensive suite of corporate & investment banking solutions!

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this position you will be coordinating origination and execution for clients in the Technology, Media & Telecom sector across the spectrum of solutions with a primary focus in: Global Banking (including Credit and Lending, Leveraged & Acquisition Finance, and Debt & Equity Capital Markets), Transaction Banking (including Global Liquidity & Cash Management and Global Trade & Receivables Finance), Global Markets (including Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, and Commodities) and Global Asset Management with the aim to grow banking revenues and improve relationship returns.

Help to build the Global Banking franchise value and reputation in the market and combining client relationship management and strong risk assessment while ensuring the required credit quality and requisite returns on risk.

Help to identify event driven opportunities on an opportunistic basis, bringing in sector, country and product expertise as appropriate. Aggressively grow HSBC's share of client wallet involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client and sector requirements.

While monitoring news, research, regulatory updates and industry trends to develop a comprehensive understanding of the Technology, Media & Telecom sector and to synthesize how this will impact and present opportunities to the client portfolio.

Liaise with relationship teams across all sites (including Europe, the Americas and Asia) to ensure the complete coverage of the Technology, Media & Telecom sector portfolio from a local, regional and global perspective.

Critically assess credit exposures of each customer through a diligent review processes, active communications with global team members and frequent update of market intelligence.

You will work closely with the credit management and credit risk units to maintain a high degree of work quality, ensuring credit approval papers are tailored and transaction in question.

Actively manage the Financial Crime Risk and relevant Operational Risk scenarios associated with the role, ensuring that all actions are taken to minimize the likelihood of such risk occurring. To ensure compliance with internal and external rules and regulations. While upholding the highest level of integrity and act as a role model for all HSBC values and business principles and being a strong standout colleague!

QUALIFICATIONS:

Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions

• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Strong understanding of corporate finance and financial analysis
• Strong financial modeling proficiency
• Ability to undertake in-depth review of industry, competitors, client and products, and provide high quality analysis of opportunities and risk
• Prior banking, consulting or sector experience required
• Strong Windows capabilities; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
• FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses required. A contingency period to obtain licensing can be provided at manager's discretion.
