BlueCard Accounting and Reporting reports accounting results which involved claims with the Blue Cross Blue Shield plans outside of Anthem. This includes journal entries, account reconciliations, systems balancing, and other various duties. As part of the Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) team, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of quality and financial accuracy. Essential duties may include, but are not limited to: Completing daily bank balancing processes for various systems Preparing and posting journal entries Performing research necessary to complete basic account reconciliations Communicating and collaborating with other teams for issue resolution The ideal candidate will have the following credentials: College Sophomore or Junior enrolled in a BA / BS undergraduate degree program in Accounting or related Business field Ability to work 40 hrs/wk Completion of intermediate level accounting classes 3 to 6 months of previous financial accounting work experience preferred Self starter, attention to detail, strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills Comfortable with multi-tasking Proficient with MS Excel Anthem, Inc. is ranked as one of Americas Most Admired Companies among health insurers by Fortune magazine and is a 2017 DiversityInc magazine Top 50 Company for Diversity.
