Intern, Performance & Attribution Summary This Los Angeles based position is with the Performance & Attribution team of Ares Management LLC. This paid intern position is full-time (40 hours/week during regular business hours) during the summer. The length of the internship is 10 weeks and can extend beyond that time depending on business needs, project requirements, and intern availability. Duties and Responsibilities Calculating portfolio returns for use in performance composites Assisting with the performance system upgrade Assisting with special projects The intern will receive training in various aspects of performance concepts including time-weighted and money-weighted performance calculations, contribution and attribution analysis, performance-based risk statistics, basic portfolio accounting, and have the opportunity to interact with members from other departments across the organization. Qualifications Undergraduate student currently enrolled (Rising Junior or Senior) Preferred majors include Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business Management, Accounting (anything related to Finance) Minimum of 3.0 GPA Requirements Interest in investment management with basic knowledge of fixed income securities Strong interpersonal, analytic, and writing skills Proficient in Excel (knowledge of SQL and/or Python a plus) Excellent organization, time management and attention-to-detail Strong problem-solving skills Self-motivated and able to work independently Previous intern or work experience is a plus! _Reports To _ Principal, Performance and Attribution COMPANY DESCRIPTION Ares Management Corporation (Ares or the Firm) is a publicly traded, leading global alternative asset manager with approximately $125 billion of assets under management ("AUM") and over $1,000 employees.
