Intern, Fund Accounting **PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES ** Work with the Controller and fund accountants on the day-to-day accounting needs across funds including, but not limited to, the below: Monitor fund liquidity and as needed assist in drafting capital call notices and/or capital distribution notices Review Net Asset Value packages, calculation of fees and investor allocations Assist in monthly activity report preparation and update accordingly for any review comments as well as assist in other ad hoc data aggregation requests Review quarterly financial statements and assist in creating a review packages for secondary reviewers Work closely with operations and other groups in managing monthly/quarterly cash and position breaks Help with quarterly SEC filing prep and compliance reporting, as needed Assist in other reporting requests from investor relations, tax, legal and compliance teams Participate in team projects and initiatives for process improvements REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Position Reports To: Controller of Fund Accounting QUALIFICATIONS **Education: ** Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or a related discipline **Required Knowledge: ** Basic understanding of accounting and U.S. GAAP Proficient in Microsoft Excel Skills/Abilities: Extremely detailed oriented with a proven track record for accuracy Customer service orientation is a must with excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organization, interpersonal and time management skills Team-oriented work ethic that includes willingness to help others Ability to multi-task and manage various deliverables in a fast-paced environment Able to deal with client in a professional way offering 1st class service standards Demonstrates initiative with regard to increasing own knowledge and assuming additional responsibility. Critical thinker who can act with minimal supervision but seeks advice appropriately.
