    We are looking for an Assistant Vice President to join the Asset-Based Lending Group. HSBC’s Asset Based Lending Group supports the bank’s Middle Market, Large Corporate and Global Banking segments targeting domestic and international companies with annual revenues ranging from $50MM to $5BN. Based in NYC, the group is looking for someone to work in tandem with Senior Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers across the U.S. and globe. Primary roles and responsibilities include of existing bank customers credit requests and ongoing portfolio supervision.

    Here’s what you can expect:

    As our AVP Asset-Based Portfolio Manager, you will advise on the risk of existing bank customers and new customer credit requests. This will likely include assisting in the end-to-end process from underwriting (collateral and financial analysis) and the execution (loan documentation, negotiations, etc.). In addition, you will develop effective strategies in managing customer relationships, ensuring quality service for all customers and relationship profitability. As a leader in the Asset-Based Lending Group, your typical day will involve interacting with key internal partners and groups including Relationship Managers, Financial Sponsors Group, Leverage Finance, Collateral Examination Group, Capital Markets, various Industry Verticals, internal Credit Approvers and In-House Legal as well as various third parties including Company Management, external Legal Counsel and Collateral Appraisers.

    For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $87,900 and $131,800.

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

    Requirements

    Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field

    • Minimum of 2-3 years proven and progressive commercial lending/credit experience or equivalent

    • General credit training preferred, however not required

    • Strong planning, negotiations, communications, analytical and organizational skills

    • Ability to work well in a team environment, build personal relationships with current and potential clients and demonstrate strong and succinct written and verbal communication skills
