Aladdin® is an operating system for investment managers that seeks to connect the information, people, and technology needed to manage money in real time. The Aladdin platform combines risk analytics with portfolio management, trading, compliance, and operations tools on a single platform to power informed decision-making, effective risk management, efficient trading, and operational scale. Aladdin is used by a community of over 200 institutional clients around the world, including BlackRock. There are over 50,000 end users of Aladdin globally. The team is comprised of 800+ professionals responsible for implementing and supporting our Aladdin clients, sales and marketing, and ensuring the Aladdin Community maximizes Aladdin products through engagement and education.
Role Description
The Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG) within BlackRock Solutions delivers actionable insights through our proficiency of Aladdin data, technology, and processes. PAG collaborates with investors, risk managers, portfolio consultants and Aladdin business teams to address client challenges with innovative technology solutions delivered with the scale of Aladdin across all asset classes and client segments. We ensure successful, high impact delivery of results aligned with our stakeholders’ priorities
We are seeking a number of Associates to join our teams in New York:
Risk Platform Analytics focuses on building technology solutions to unlock medium to long-term growth opportunities for the business, such as enabling self-service on Aladdin
Private Market Analytics focuses on creating and deploying Private Credit and cashflow analytics on both eFront and Aladdin. Familiarity with Private Market Investment systems (Yardi/Black Mountain/etc.) is preferred.
Multi-Asset Portfolio Analytics focuses on collaborating on technology solutions with investors, asset allocators and researchers to scale portfolio construction, manager research, and create a multi-asset specific analytics and platform solutions for clients in both BlackRock Outsourced CIO, LifePath Retirement and Model Portfolio Solution businesses
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to incorporate research, data and analytic solution into workflows and decisions based on their needs
Prototype tactical solutions and partner with technology departments to evolve tactical solutions into scalable products that can be offered commercially
Design, implement and support new analytical capabilities with partner teams to address new requirements and enable new opportunities
Apply strong project management skills to all product responsibilities: set agenda, drive tone, provide direction to individual team members, coordinate execution, and communicate out to partners
Serve as an ambassador for our solutions externally with clients and participate in business development activities
Build inclusive teams across the community of internal groups and influence key partners and project sponsors to achieve greater consensus
Respond to inquiries and enhancement requests from clients and serve as the subject matter expert in internal & external client discussions
Qualifications
3-6 years in a highly analytical role in a technology or financial services setting
Strong critical thinking and confirmed experience using technology to solve problems at scale
Outstanding academic achievement, degree in business, computer science, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics or other quantitative field of study
Relentless desire for understanding how processes work. Creativity in solving unconventional problems, entrepreneurial drive to learn new skills and technologies.
Strong knowledge and experience with Python, SQL, and UNIX. Experience with PowerBI or Tableau a plus
Superior communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly
Ability and willingness to learn fast, multi-task, self-motivate and pick up new things easily
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
Experience in product and project management is a big plus. Ability to structure multiple communication streams and manage workflows, as well as time management skills are required
