Supports senior Debt Finance Origination (DFO) team members with prospecting, marketing and execution activities for all lead-left syndicated bank loan opportunities across Commercial Banking. Performs in depth credit and business due diligence, including debt capacity and market comparable analyses, to inform opinions on loan structure, pricing and syndication. Creates detailed pitch books to synthesize and clearly articulate HSBC’s financing views / recommendations to clients. Leads the preparation of marketing materials (including information memorandums, lender presentations, etc.) distributed to potential lenders. Maintains certain internal data relating to market intelligence, comparable companies and other team-specific reporting systems.
What you might expect on a typical day:
Conduct due diligence for existing or prospective clients including market comparable analysis and debt capacity analysis
Lead the drafting of pitch materials that incorporate analysis on capital structure, syndication strategy and key market terms and conditions
Lead the execution process of structuring lead-left transactions, organizing bank meetings, and assists in the negotiation and completion of required legal documentation / closing process
Engage in dialogue with clients and prospects on capital structure and bank market conditions
Providing pricing support to senior managers for analysis and review
Provide guidance on proposed deal terms to corporate coverage teams regarding transactions that HSBC participates in a non-lead role
Work with other areas and segments of the Bank to ensure the best possible experience for customers, employees and the Bank, maximizing returns/cross sales

Requirements
Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
Proven experience in a commercial banking or loan structuring role dealing with corporate customers or equivalent
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, related field or equivalent experience
Strong interpersonal, credit and financial analysis skills
Comfortable dealing with internal and external customers
Proficiency with personal computers as well as strong PowerPoint and Excel skills as well as other software applications
Familiarity with pertinent financial and market data sources to support debt finance origination activities
FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses preferred and will be required to obtain within a reasonable time frame
