    Our Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Associates play a key role within the ECM team! They help to both win new business and execute ECM transactions. Our Associates interact closely with our clients and internal partners and will learn valuable critical thinking and financial analytical skills. ECM Associates are generalists and cover small cap and mega cap clients in a broad range of industries. The HSBC ECM team differentiates itself through outstanding training of junior talent!

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    Here's what you might expect on a typical day:

    • ECM Banking skills: Perform financial analysis and prepare pitch materials as well as market and economic updates to support the origination of equity, equity-linked and strategic equity products.
    • Communications skills: Liaise with Global Markets teams in sales, research and trading to deliver capital markets advice to our corporate clients.
    • Deal Management skills: Manage the day to day execution process, collaborating closely both internally with other teams within HSBC as well as with clients and other advisors externally.
    • Client/Colleague skills: Coordinate closely with investors and clients during marketing and roadshow meetings. Collaborate with colleagues in the wider ECM, ELCM and SEF businesses and with partners across Investment Banking, Commercial Banking and Global Markets.
