  • Responsibilities

    Join Mizuho as a Quantitative Strategist supporting our FIC trading desks. As a Strat you will be building tools and models to facilitate the day-to-day sales and trading business.

    Summary

    The Quantitative Strategy team is looking to hire a junior STRAT to build, support front office (Sales/Trading) tools and models

    Major Responsibilities

    • Building, maintaining Python and Spreadsheet tools for live market analysis, Risk PnL explain, pricing and risk management

    • Collaborate with Front Office IT to design, construct and maintain market data feeds between vendor and in-house systems

    • Supporting Interest Rates. FX and XVA trading desks, with the ability to model all related products pricing in C++ and Python

    • Building/maintaining database queries for real time or historical time series analysis with vendors databases and systems

    • Support and enhance e-trading platform analytics for interest rate swaps, corporate bonds and other related assets

    Requirements

    • Min. 2~3 years experience working in a Front Office quantitative role, preferably for a sell side broker-dealer or swaps-dealer

    • Experience and strong Python programming skills, including Numpy and Pandas (reasonable C++ skills would be a plus)

    • Self starter, solution oriented and good communication skills, working well under pressure (Front Office experience a plus)

    Education

    • Masters degree in Applied Mathematics / Engineering / Physics or equivalent, with some Financial Engineering experience and with some serious background and/or experience in Computer Sciences (as a major or second degree)

    The expected base salary ranges from $95,000-$160,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
