    The Business Development Manager will be part of a customer facing team that is responsible for business development and market penetration of Kearfott’s motion systems products. Preference is for a candidate with a background in avionics systems or actuation systems. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to lead business development activities.

     

    • Will serve as the point of contact to the customer as assigned for company correspondence, proposals, contracts, and negotiation activities as required
    • Develop, Create and maintain a strategic business plan for assigned customers and/or markets to meet corporate growth strategies
    • Prepare forecasts of the new business opportunities for customers and/or within the markets assigned, to support short term and long term plans
    • Analyze the current defense and commercial marketplace for potential applications for Kearfott product Development opportunities and for Motion Control Product offerings
    • Develop, manage and maintain customer relationship activities required for the identification and management of new sales opportunities and activities within assigned customers and/or markets
    • Provide the expertise and management skills to lead a cross-functional team to identify, strategize, pursue, propose and win targeted new applications
    • Review and evaluate marketing information and intelligence with regards to direct Kearfott competitors and summarize strengths and weaknesses compared to Kearfott product offerings
    • Maintains company image and relationship, with customers (domestic and international) as a high level decision maker
    • Remain knowledgeable in the organization, personnel, decision makers and programs of customers in the region assigned
    • Performs any other tasks as directed by Management to satisfy company objectives
    • Travel requirements will vary from 40% to 60% per month. Frequent travel to Kearfott site facilities will be required if home location is a remote location

    Required Experience

    • B.S. in Engineering or Business Management, prefer MS or MBA
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in avionics industry, preferably military/aerospace or commercial aircraft
    • Previous experience managing others is a plus
    • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Office as well as CRM tools such as SalesForce, Microsoft Dynamics
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development / sales role
    • US Citizen and ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance
