As a member of AXIS, you join a team that is among the best in the industry.Job Summary:This role will be responsible for working within the insurance segment as part of the Insurance Data & Analytics team. The role is responsible for gathering requirements for data and designing, prototyping and implementing ad hoc solutions required to support the analytical needs of the actuaries for acquisition of data and analytical tools. The role may work with the IT department to set requirements and perform testing for more robust data acquisition, or software installation or configuration projects. Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrototype, develop, maintain various data acquisition and retrieval flows. Requiring having an in-depth understanding of data systems, and how they relate to actuarial use.Work with actuaries and source data experts to ensure data is accurate and fit for purpose; develop and implement control processes as necessary to monitor data accuracy and quality.Work hands on as necessary to develop prototypes of solutions to validate the requirements and designs. Provide requirements to segment IT and assist with UAT as needed to implement solutions in production environments.Work closely with Pricing and Risk actuaries to ensure that data and analytical solutions meet needs across the Insurance segment. Work with segment business intelligence resources to ensure that these solutions will also meet requirements for management information / business intelligence needs. Solutions need to balance both ad-hoc needs as well as longer term strategic development.Work with Segment IT to ensure that data elements, logic, etc. aligns with the needs and expectations of the actuarial group.Perform user acceptance testing with IT as development requirements are completed or prototypes are prepped for production use.Communicate openly and often with Insurance Pricing, Reserving and risk teams, and customers of the analytic environment regarding priorities and progressSupport project management and organization as directedRequired Education, Skills, and QualificationsBachelors degree or equivalent experience2+ years of experience delivering data for actuarial analytics and business intelligence solutions Experience in / with:SQL/T-SQL - SQL Server Management Studio, AccessSSISVBAExcelWordPowerPointSharePointPython, R, and Tableau experience is a plusFirm understanding of insurance and actuarial concepts and terminology
