Brief Description: The CMS Underwriter in this role will act within established guidelines, market, analyze, review, evaluate and monitor new and renewal of public and private company Management Liability business, including D&O, Employment Practices, Fiduciary and Crime. Key Duties & Responsibilities: * Prospects new business targets and opportunities, and develops strategies to procure new business. * Manages personal book of business with regard to new lines, renewals. * Forms and develops new broker relationships, as well as maintains and strengthens existing relationships with brokers operating within the Northeast Region. * Underwrites individual risks. Develops appropriate limit structure, retention, pricing and endorsement recommendations within underwriting guidelines. Refers to supervisor for approval. * Meets established divisional servicing objectives related to quote turnaround, policy issuance, phone management, renewal management, file maintenance, and documentation. * Perform required marketing calls through regular broker visits, as well as client meetings. * Cross-market with all product lines within AXIS * Continue to develop and update product and underwriting knowledge. * May participate in projects, other duties or similar work as required. Required Education/Training & Experience: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Professional designations preferred. * Seeking a candidate with 2-5 years experience in underwriting CMS coverage lines, or related Professional Lines experience. * Advanced technical expertise, underwriting skills and knowledge of insurance and underwriting principles, practices and procedures. Experience should include ability to assess company financials, analyze stock metrics, manuscript forms and manage individual portfolios.
