Job Description

Costa Mesa based equipment financing company seeks a Bankruptcy/Litigation Paralegal for its in-house Legal Department. 

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

1. Preparing and filing proofs of claims;
2. Providing documents to support proofs of claims;
3. Reviewing and managing bankruptcy mail including notices and pleadings;
4. Obtaining periodic updates of the progress of the case until resolution;
5. Communicating and coordinating with outside BK counsel;
6. Submitting and filing documents to the BK court in a timely manner utilizing the CM/ECF filing system;
7. Preparing and filing Notices of Stay of Proceedings in state court matters;
8. Providing litigation support to other paralegals;
9. Updating files with status of bankruptcy cases and filings; and
10. Copying, filing, and scanning.

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 3 - 5 year(s) of experience as a Bankruptcy Paralegal. 
• Experience utilizing PACER and CM/ECF electronic platforms.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail oriented and strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple cases at the same time and ability to prioritize effectively.
