This analyst will be responsible for working with algorithm / time-series approaches to predict volumes that will be fed into the capacity planning tools and the budgets for the lines of business that they support. This person should have a keen eye for details, a strong education background in econometrics / statistics / data science / predictive modeling, as well as an ability to explain their results intuitively to a non-technical audience. This individual will need to partner with the teams they support to drive an intuitive understanding of the business and what drives it, to then be able to analyze that strategic story and fold it into their volume forecasting. This is a very good role for recent graduates, and analysts with moderate experience. This forecasting approach for L&SS is just getting off the ground, and the person hired into this role will have an integral part to play in helping innovate the process and set the standards for forecasting for this group. Job Description Specifics: Responsible for analyzing the data and partnering with the business to generate best in class outcomes. Helping the team innovate, drive, and develop algorithm-based forecasting approaches. Working with our Model Risk Lead to provide timely documentation updates on new modeling rollouts to keep the team in compliance with the Bank's Modeling policies Required Skills: o Master's degree in in Mathematics/Statistics/Applied Economics/Operations Research/Advanced Analytics, or like experience. o Fundamental understanding, and experience with Linear-Regression/Time-Series/Statistical Modeling o Experience with SAS, Python, R, or similar statistical software. o Data visualization o Ability to work in team-oriented environment with strong aptitude for problem solving and collaboration. o Communication and interpersonal skills: specifically the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner key stake holders. o Natural Curiosity and drive to answer important business questions. Desired Skills o High aptitude for self-motivation and self-determined project work. o Data Mining Experience using SQL/SAS querying. o Tableau o Professional experience as a data scientist / analyst / statistician is a plus, but not a requirement. Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Works on usually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. Work is performed without appreciable discretion. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objective of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results. Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendation would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives. Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations. Associates typically have advanced degree in Operations Research/Industrial Engineering/Applied Mathematics with a minimum of 2 years related experience. Experience with modeling languages like OPL-Studio, AMPL or GAMS. Experience with discrete event simulation software such as Arena/SIMAN, Extend, ProModel or iGrafx. Experience in C/C++, Visual Basic Applications (VBA).
