Citi's Institutional Clients Group (ICG) is looking for Summer Analysts to join the Investment Banking team in NAM. The Investment Banking group provides sector expertise and strategic advisory solutions, including mergers & acquisitions, capital raising and other strategic financings to corporate, financial service and public sector clients.

    The Strategic Shareholder Advisory Group is a critical and growing part of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group focused on advising Citi's global clients and their boards of directors on issues related to shareholder activism, takeover defense, contested M&A, corporate governance and investor dynamics. The Data Science Summer Analyst will play an important role working together with more senior CIB officers and professionals, and participating in particular client transactions, live projects or assignments. In addition to preparing client materials, the Data Science Analyst will work directly with senior leaders in the M&A group and the Chief Data Scientist to generate novel and differentiated analytics, platforms and tools to improve our understanding of clients' shareholders, and create efficiency and scale. The Data Science Summer Analyst will be required to balance a broad set of deliverables ranging from direct client work to developing insightful and practical analytical models, and will therefore require strong time management and communication skills in combination with core technical abilities.

    We're committed to teaching you the ropes. The 10-week Summer Analyst Program starts in June and begins with a 1-week in-depth training program. After a placement process, based on your interests and our needs, you will be matched with an Investment Banking team to work with for the duration of the Program. While you're in the Summer Analyst role, you're eligible to participate in Citi's mentorship program, which will provide further training and guidance during and after the Program. Top performing Summer Analysts often return to Citi after graduation to work as Full Time Analysts.

We'll also be looking for the following: Proper performance of the duties of the Data Science Summer Analyst position requires the theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge. Accordingly, the academic requirement for assuming the Summer Analyst position is, at a minimum, in process of attaining a Bachelor-level degree with concentrated coursework in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Econometrics and/or closely related areas. More important is the demonstrated ability to build scalable analytics using data science software (Python, R, SQL, etc.) and developing and implementing web APIs. Organizing and analyzing sophisticated financial data used in client proposals. Evaluating company's financial performance compared to overall industry and market trends. Creating marketing materials for M&A and Capital Markets transactions.
