DISASTER RECOVERY - HAZARD MITIGATION SPECIALIST

CLIENT: Emergency Management/Disaster Recovery

LOCATION: Sacramento

COMPENSATION: $50 - 90 per hour (experience dependent - contract 1099)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  You must have experience with FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program and FEMA PA grant closeout experience.

Our nationally recognized client has immediate need for consultants to support growing needs on a long-term project basis (significant duration for high performance).

In this role, you will participate in or lead projects for federal, state and/or local clients related to Hazard Mitigation.  You will be expected to perform program management, development and/or review of federal grant applications, program monitoring, review and improvement of plans, documents, manuals, policies, and procedures. WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• 5+ years of experience in an emergency management discipline;
• Experience with FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program;
• Experience with FEMA PA grant closeout;
• Three years' experience working with FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs, particularly in 406;
• Consulting experience in the public, private, or non-profit sector;
• Willingness to travel to project sites and work in a demanding disaster recovery environment;
• Experience effectively working with or managing a team;
• Outstanding communication skills to produce technically sound deliverables with little oversight (writing sample is pre-requisite);
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products to self-produce materials; and
• Bachelors degree required, Masters degree a plus.
