Job Description: BlackRock's US Private Capital ("USPC") is a private investment business unit of BlackRock's Global Fundamental Credit Platform. We are a dedicated team focused on providing innovative capital solutions to US middle market companies through directly originated investments that generate attractive risk-adjusted returns (primarily junior debt investing). This is a relatively new group within BlackRock and represents the firm's commitment toward building a preeminent private investment platform serving this market. USPC is adding new investment products to complement BCIC's primary focus of originating and investing in credit mezzanine opportunities. In particular, USPC will be launching a $3.0bn Middle Market Senior Fund (MMSF) to invest in senior secured loans that provide clients attractive risk-adjusted returns and a source of low-volatility current income. We are seeking an Associate-level professional to focus on investment due diligence and portfolio company monitoring. This position will report into the Head of Investments and partner closely with other lead origination professionals. The individual must have prior investment banking or private equity experience and have strong analytical and modeling skills. Critical to individual success will be investment judgment, ability to work constructively with investment partners, willingness to take initiative, being resourceful and intellectually curious.
