For additional information on BlackRock, please visit Job Description: Business Unit Overview: The BlackRock Executive Search Team (BEST) is a high performing global team that supports Managing Director and strategic Director hiring across the BlackRock franchise. Since 2012, we have completed hundreds of assignments across all of BlackRocks business units and have outperformed or equaled our retained providers on nearly all of our other KPIs (diversity, time-to-hire, etc.) Role Description: The Executive Search Associate will be responsible for independently leading a high-touch and world-class end-to-end executive search process for all US based Director & Managing Director level searches in the Investments space. This includes equities, fixed income, multi asset, and alternative investments. Key Responsibilities: -Manage and oversee a high-touch, cradle-to-grave, recruiting process that includes research, sourcing, assessment, offer negotiation, closing and onboarding -Sourcing and assessing qualified candidates for open roles and maintaining a pipeline via market mapping, conducting research and leveraging additional recruiting tools -Heavy emphasis on creative direct sourcing of external talent -Managing search firm relationships/leveraging agency expertise (albeit very limited) -Providing consultative support to senior business and HR stakeholders, sharing relevant market insights and competitive intelligence -Capture and report on key metrics that show results, trends and opportunities in key talent markets and supported business -Partnering with the HR Executives & Talent Management to support critical succession planning needs -Meet new/recent hires to leverage referrals and competitor intelligence -Responsible for timely production and delivery of search progress reports to internal clients -Regular update meetings and frequent communication throughout the recruitment process -Share manager/stakeholder feedback and appropriately disposition all candidate -Ensure CRM database is updated to reflect all contact with target candidates. -Meet or exceed hiring and cost avoidance goals while proactively building a diverse pipeline of top talent Requirements: -3-5 years (or commensurate track record) of executive level recruiting and research experience -Majority of experience should be spent working within a fast paced financial services firm or reputable executive search firm supporting asset management and/or alternative investment focused clients -Experience recruiting for investment executives (Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts, Investment Strategists, etc.) strongly preferred -Proven success with direct sourcing; ability to utilize research resources, networks and cold-calling to deliver candidates -Communicates with a level of gravitas and sophistication to collaborate with, and influence senior-level candidates, hiring managers and HR colleagues -Track record of effectively negotiating and closing senior-level hires; including complex compensation and offer terms -Strong relationship skills with the ability to build partnerships with clients, HR colleagues and vendors -Must be a self-starter who can work independently in a dynamic environment of change, challenge, sensitive deadlines and competing priorities -Strong project management with ability to manage complex assignments and multiple searches while delivering a high level of customer service -Commercial and entrepreneurial self-starter -Superb communication and interpersonal skills, including strong influencing, negotiation and presentation skills. -Undergraduate degree required BlackRock is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
