Consultant Relations Analyst/Associate The Global Consultant Relations
(GCR) team is part of the Institutional Client Business. Primarily based
in the US and UK, the group is also represented in Japan, Asia and
Australia. GCR is responsible for developing and maintaining
relationships with global, regional and local consultants across all
asset classes, preparing new business proposals and populating industry
and consultant databases. Opportunity GCR is seeking motivated
Consultant Coverage and RFP professionals. Team members may have
responsibilities across both functions or specialize in either area. The
team is open to candidates in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, or
Boston. The successful candidates will: - Develop knowledge across the
full range of BlackRock product and systems - Cultivate internal and
external client service skills - Help shape firm and product narratives
- Collaborate with all teams across the firm and interact with
professionals at all levels - Advance project management and
communication skills Consultant Coverage Team members maintain a regular
dialogue across the entire suite of BlackRocks investment strategies
with investment consultants. The role includes developing an
understanding of consultants business models and priorities to support
the consultant relationship managers sales strategies as well as
tracking and reporting on the teams progress. The individual will serve
as a primary internal resource to consultants, responding to incoming
requests and opportunities in a timely manner and overseeing BlackRocks
participation in consultant-related RFPs and databases. In addition, the
individual will help to plan, coordinate and participate in meetings
with consultant research teams as well as collaborating with client
account managers to protect and drive new business. Other
responsibilities include working with investment teams and sales teams
to develop and execute marketing plans to consultants for select
products. New Business Proposals (RFPs) Team members own the completion
of RFPs for institutional clients across the full breadth of BlackRocks
investment management platform globally. Individuals vet new business
opportunities and independently lead project teams responsible for
delivering high quality proposals. The role includes working with
investment strategy teams on developing new product content and
customizing content for specific sales opportunities. Team members also
leverage insights gained through the RFP process to determine sales
trends and are expected to contribute to improving our processes,
resources and technology. Experienced RFP Writers are also responsible
for training, guiding and reviewing work for junior team members. Skills
& Qualifications: - 1-5+ years of relevant experience such as investment
consulting, portfolio management/research, institutional relationship
management and client service, new business proposal (RFP) writing,
institutional marketing or project management - BA/BS degree in related
field; CFA and CAIA a plus - Strong capital markets expertise and
interest - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills -
Sales-oriented approach to daily responsibilities - Organized and
detail-oriented with strong project and time management skills -
Effective team player; ability to prioritize and work with professionals
at all level - High level of self-motivation, with strong integrity &
ethics - Demonstrated analytical ability - Series 7 and 63 desirable,
