Responsibilities: - Help coordinate, prepare, and conduct operational due diligence reviews of external hedge fund managers. Reviews include evaluations of hedge fund internal controls, operational support structure, trade processing, legal documentation, cash management procedures, valuation practices, NAV production, service providers, etc. - Conduct calls and onsite meetings with hedge fund CFOs, COOs, other Sr. management and personnel - Assist with the ongoing oversight of the existing hedge fund platform and participate in the evaluation of new hedge fund allocations - Build a comprehensive understanding of hedge funds, operational best practice and the alternatives industry - Present findings to all levels of the organization - Qualifications: - Bachelors degree required; 2-3 years of relevant experience - Experience in public accounting, alternative investments (e.g. hedge funds) and/or relevant industry experience desired, but not required - CPA/CFA desirable and/or interest in pursuing such designations - Capacity to keep the strategic vision of a company in sight while paying attention to the details of day-to-day operations - Outstanding verbal and written communication skills - Outstanding analytical and organizational skills - Ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization and contribute to the strategic direction of the firm - Collaborative contributor who thrives in a team environment BlackRock is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
